Modi govt’s days are numbered, claims senior Indian journalist
New Delhi: Senior Indian journalist Prem Shankar Jha has said that the days of the Modi government in India are numbered.
According to Kashmir Media Service, in his article published in a Bharatiya newspaper, Prem Shankar Jha, while analyzing the current political situation, said the growing popularity of the youth party Cockroach Janta Party could lead to the end of Modi’s 25-year rule as chief minister and prime minister.
He said that it would not be right to consider the growing popularity of this youth party as a mere temporary or timely political trend. The unrest among the youth and the backlash against the current political system have the potential to change the course of Indian politics in the coming days.
Prem Shankar Jha said that the emergence of the Cockroach Janta Party is not the result of a temporary public anger, but the political trend behind it needs to be looked at seriously. The acceptance of this party among the youth reflects that a section of Indian society is dissatisfied with the current political leadership and government behavior.
He claimed that the BJP government can adopt various means and strategies to maintain its political grip. The government can use various tactics, including increasing pressure on the media, restricting press freedom, creating divisions among opposition parties and various measures related to the right to vote.
In his article, Prem Shankar Jha, referring to Narendra Modi’s long political reign, said that his 25-year term as Chief Minister and Prime Minister now seems to be approaching its final stage and the increasing political activity among the youth and the reaction against the government may have a profound impact on Modi’s political future.
He added that it would be a big mistake for the BJP to consider the current situation in Indian politics as just a temporary political upheaval. The protests of the youth and the government’s action against them have created such a change in the political environment that it may prove to be a big challenge for the ruling party in the coming time.
The senior Indian journalist clearly in his analysis claimed that the days of BJP rule in India are numbered and if the current political trends continue, the Modi government may face serious difficulties in terms of power in the coming period.
