Muslim labourer assaulted by Hindutva group in UP
Lucknow,: A young Muslim labourer, identified as Bilal, was assaulted by a Hindutva group in Shamli, Uttar Pradesh.
According to Kashmir Media Service, a viral video of the incident shows the victim being accosted on a road and taken to a nearby field where he was brutally beaten. Bilal reportedly works as a labourer at a brick kiln.
According to social media posts, he was forcibly taken to the field after a verbal altercation.
The video shows several people abusing and beating the young man with sticks, rods and belts, while others kick and punch him.
At one point, Bilal can be heard pleading with those assaulting him, saying, “Oh brother, I’ll die… let me go, I’ll hold your feet.”
The footage also appears to show Bilal being made to hold the feet of those involved while the incident is recorded.
One user on X said that the culprits had the support of the RSS and BJP.
