APHC urges IIOJK people to honor Syed Ali Gilani on martyrdom anniversary

Srinagar: The All Parties Hurriyet Conference (APHC) has urged the people of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) to visit the grave of iconic Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Gilani at Hyderpora in Srinagar on Tuesday to pay tribute to him on his fifth martyrdom anniversary.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Syed Ali Gilani breathed his last at his Hyderpora residence in Srinagar on September 01 in 2021 where he had been kept under house arrest by the Indian authorities for over a decade. His lifelong commitment to Kashmir’s accession to Pakistan remained a defining feature of his political struggle. The slogan ‘Hum Pakistani Hain, Pakistan Hamara Ha’ coined by him also remains a powerful symbol of his vision and political convictions.
APHC spokesman Advocate Rashid Minhas in a statement in Srinagar highlighted the martyred leader’s peerless contribution and his indomitable role in the Kashmiris’ ongoing struggle for the right to self-determination.
He said Syed Ali Gilani was truly an iron man of Kashmir who never compromised on his principled stance on the Kashmir dispute despite facing trials and tribulations at the hands of the Indian authorities.
The APHC appealed to the people of Kashmir to visit the Hyderpora graveyard to pay homage to the great leader, who remained steadfast in advocating the right to plebiscite and a political future of Kashmiris. The statement also urged imams and ulema to offer special prayers in mosques for the martyred leader.
Meanwhile, Hurriyet leader, Abdul Samad Inqilabi, in a statement in Srinagar, said that the Syed Ali Gilani’s struggle, courage, and sacrifices would continue to inspire oppressed and weak nations worldwide. He said that Syed Ali Gilani’s mission and ideals remained alive, adding that he would be remembered as a great leader of the past and present century.
