Legislation cannot make IIOJK part of India: AJK PM
Muzaffarabad: Newly elected Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Syed Iftikhar Gilani, in his maiden address to the AJK Legislative Assembly after taking oath, strongly condemned India’s August 5, 2019 actions, asserting that legislation cannot make Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir part of India and that Kashmir remains incomplete without Pakistan.
According to Kashmir Media Service, addressing the Assembly, Iftikhar Gilani said he was grateful to the Pakistan Army and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, adding that Kashmiris sleep peacefully because of the Pakistan Army.
The AJK prime minister said his government would take measures to improve governance and move the region towards a digital economy. He also announced plans to promote skill-based education and launch a digital citizen portal to address public grievances.
It is pertinent to mention that Syed Iftikhar Gilani secured 30 votes in the election for AJK prime minister, while his rival, Pakistan Peoples Party’s Sardar Mukhtar Khan, secured 14 votes.
