Outsourcing leaves Kashmiri youth in limbo, says Iltija Mufti
PDP leader grills regime for ignoring unemployed youth amid reservation row

Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader Iltija Mufti has criticized the authorities in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir for promoting outsourcing instead of creating genuine employment opportunities for local youth, saying delays in releasing the reservation policy report have further compounded their difficulties.
According to Kashmir Media Service, speaking during a protest at the PDP office in Srinagar, Iltija said open-merit students and job aspirants were being denied justice as the administration had failed to make public the reservation policy report despite assurances that its findings would be released within six months.
She also pointed to discrepancies in recruitment, including the Deputy Superintendent of Police selection list, and alleged that the policy of outsourcing was marginalizing local youth and depriving them of employment opportunities.
Highlighting the difficulties faced by economically disadvantaged families and aspirants following recent policy changes, including reduced age limits and capped attempts in examinations, Iltija demanded immediate resolution of issues confronting medical interns and employees.
She said her criticism was aimed at seeking accountability and was not directed against any particular community, urging the administration to fulfil its long-pending commitments to the youth of Jammu and Kashmir.
Expressing solidarity with the protesters, Iltija said, “My purpose is to remind the authorities that you made a very big promise to these students and the youth of Jammu and Kashmir — that you would present this report,” adding, “We are here to remind Omar Abdullah that you have to deliver justice to the youth of Jammu and Kashmir.”
