Enemies of Constitution exposed, says Rahul Gandhi on EC dissent

New Delhi : Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has said that the “enemies of the Constitution” has been exposed and added that justice would be served, amid a controversy over reported differences among Election Commission (EC) members on the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.

According to Kashmir Media Service, his latest remarks came after The Indian Express reported that two of the three Election Commissioners — Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi — had repeatedly raised objections within the poll panel over matters concerning the SIR.

The report said the rollout of the SIR has been overseen by all three commissioners. However, Sandhu and Joshi have formally recorded their objections at least 14 times over the past 10 months, including four instances on a single day, regarding decisions and orders that they said were taken or issued without their knowledge.
