Man assaulted, forced to drink urine in UP’s Aligarh

Aligarh: In a shocking incident of inhuman treatment, a man was allegedly assaulted, partially shaved, tied to a tree and forced to drink urine in Uttar Pradesh’s Aligarh district.

The incident took place on Thursday at a village under Akrabad police station area, around 40 km from Aligarh, but came to light after a video purportedly showing the assault was circulated on social media.

Police said the victim, an unmarried man, was allegedly in a relationship with a married woman from the family of his sister’s in-laws, and when the relationship came to light a group of people confronted and assaulted him, shaving half his head and beard.

Police said seven people, including three women, described as the victim’s sister’s in-laws, along with some unidentified persons, were allegedly involved in the assault and are absconding.

A case has been registered for assault and inhuman treatment, while further investigation and attempts to identify others are underway.
