CIK raids house in Islamabad, search operations underway across IIOJK

Srinagar: The personnel of Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) raided the house of a woman in Islamabad district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

A team of the Counter Intelligence Kashmir, led by a Deputy Superintendent of Police, conducted a search at a house in Janglat Mandi area of the district and seized two mobile phones along with associated SIM cards from the residence of a woman.

Officials claimed that she was suspected of being involved in the struggle for the right to self-determination.

Meanwhile, Indian Army personnel claimed to have detected two landmines along the Line of Control at Basooni Top in Mendhar area of Poonch district, which were later destroyed in a controlled explosion by the Bomb Disposal Squad.

Indian forces also continued cordon-and-search operations and stepped-up surveillance across several areas of Srinagar, Islamabad, Shopian, Kulgam, Pulwama, Budgam, Bandipora, Baramulla, Ganderbal, Kupwara, Rajouri, Udhampur, Poonch, Kathua and Jammu districts.

Frisking and checking of vehicles and pedestrians have become a routine part of daily life in various areas across IIOJK, particularly in towns of the districts. Indian police also claimed to have recovered a country-made pistol from a man identified as Anil Kumar Sharma during an operation in the Jewel area of Jammu.
