INDIA bloc stages dharna near ECI office, demands CEC resignation

New Delhi: Opposition INDIA bloc MPs led by Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge staged a sit-in dharna at Parliament Street after Delhi Police blocked their “Save Democracy” march from Parliament to Election Commission headquarters.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the MPs including Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Akhilesh Yadav and Supriya Sule marched from Makar Dwar carrying banners alleging vote theft and demanded resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over alleged irregularities and bias in Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, particularly modifications linked to Form-6 enrolment.
The march was stopped near NITI Aayog / Akashvani Bhawan with heavy barricading. Blocked from reaching Nirvachan Sadan, the MPs sat on roadside raising slogans “Vote Chor, Gaddi Chhod” and “Gyanesh, it’s done, bro. Time to resign” – as stated by Rahul Gandhi.
The opposition demanded scrapping of SIR, restoration of deleted voter names and a high-level inquiry into who benefited from alleged manipulation. ECI has rejected allegations, claiming statutory procedures were followed.AAP and DMK did not join the protest.
