Maharashtra: Pune students’ protest against MPSC chief enters seventh day

‘How will students get justice under the rule of fund thieves, vote thieves and paper thieves?’: Shiv Sena leader

Pune: A student protest in Pune demanding the resignation of Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) Chairman Vivek Bhimanwar over alleged paper leaks and irregularities entered its seventh day on Wednesday.

Shiv Sena leader and Member of Parliament Aaditya Thackeray joined the protesting students and strongly criticized the BJP government. He also demanded the resignation of Vivek Bhimanwar and Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.

Aaditya Thackeray said that Vivek Bhimanwar and Gyanesh Kumar would “definitely be removed.” Strongly criticizing the Modi government, he asked, “How will students get justice under the rule of fund thieves, vote thieves and paper thieves?”

He said the protesting youth were the future of the country and urged the government to address their concerns. He also expressed concern over the plight of farmers, rising unemployment among young people and the declining availability of job opportunities.

Aaditya Thackeray said that several industries were being shifted to Gujarat, while the growing use of artificial intelligence could further affect employment opportunities. He said those who question the Modi government are labelled “urban Naxals” or “mental Naxals.”

He stressed that it was necessary to remove the present government from power and urgently address the issues facing students, youth and farmers.
