Two Indian paramilitary personnel die while on duty in separate incidents
New Delhi: Two personnel of the Assam Rifles and Border Security Force (BSF) died in separate incidents in India.
Assam Rifles rifleman, V. Teja, a resident of Rayagada district of Odisha, died after sustaining a gunshot wound while on operational duty in Nagaland.
The 15th Assam Rifles soldier was rushed to a hospital in an injured condition, but doctors declared him brought dead. Reportedly, he was scheduled to get married on December 10.
In a separate incident, 36-year-old Border Security Force (BSF) soldier, Premjoy Sarkar, died after suffering a suspected cardiac arrest while on duty in New Delhi.
Family members said that Sarkar, who was posted at a BSF camp in Delhi, fell ill on Tuesday and was rushed to a hospital, where doctors declared him dead. Preliminary reports indicated that he died of a heart attack.
