Two Muslim brothers assaulted over cow slaughter claim in Maharashtra
Mumbai: In Gangapur in Maharashtra’s Aurangabad district, two Muslim brothers were assaulted over cow slaughter claim in Maharashtra.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Mumtaz Harun Qureshi and his brother Nisar were attacked. The two brothers were engaged in the traditional ceremony of sowing tar in their field when a group of individuals armed with sticks and rods descended on the farm. The assailants accused the brothers of slaughtering cows and began a merciless assault.
The attackers, after committing the crime, hastily fled the scene, leaving the victims in distress.
Upon reaching the farm, a family member, Rehman Qureshi, found both the brothers bleeding profusely.
Mumtaz, determined to seek justice, filed a complaint, alleging that a gang had launched a fatal assault on him and his brother. Both victims are currently receiving treatment at Aurangabad Ghati.
The police have registered a case against the suspects and are pursuing leads to apprehend them. The names of the assailants include Shrikant Mahesh Krishna Gaekwad, Vinu Dillune, and others.
The incident has raised concerns about the growing instances of violence in the name of cow protection and highlights the need for swift and just legal action to ensure the safety of individuals and the rule of law.
