Seven Manipur police trainees injured in clash in Assam
Golaghat (Assam): Seven Manipur police trainees were injured in a clash that occurred in the troubled state of Assam, India.
The incident took place at the Lachit Borphukan Police Academy in Golaghat district during training.
The clash erupted between two groups of cadets when verbal abuse escalated after one trainee brought liquor from a local market into the academy during dinner time on Saturday night. The altercation escalated into a full-blown clash, resulting in injuries to several trainees.
A senior official from the academy stated that seven trainees from Manipur were injured in the scuffle. Three of them were sent to Jorhat Medical College and Hospital for treatment, while four were released after receiving preliminary medical intervention at a local hospital.
In a separate incident, an Indian Air Force corporal, Harveer Choudhary, lost his life in an accident at Hakimpet Air Force Station in Telangana. Choudhary was repairing a U-736 Kiran Aircraft when the seat unexpectedly ejected, causing a fatal head injury. The incident led to his immediate death, according to the police.
