Jaipur: A mob attacked and injured a reporter from Press Trust of India (PTI) and their cameraman while covering a protest in Rajasthan, India.

According to Kashmir Media Service, media personnel, identified as Ajeet Shekhawat and Dharmendra Kumar, were assaulted by a mob in Tonk district of Rajasthan. Their camera was stolen and set on fire.

In a distress video sent to the PTI office, Shekhawat showed blood streaming from his left eye, while Kumar suffered a head injury and a possible broken arm. Both were later hospitalized.

The attack on media persons was condemned by journalist organizations, politicians and rights groups. Congress leader Sachin Pilot also demanded strict action. The Press Club of India called for immediate measures to protect media professionals amid growing concerns over press freedom in the country.
