Bombay Stock Exchange receives hoax bomb threat

Mumbai: The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), located in Mumbai, received a bomb threat via email, prompting Indian police to launch a search operation.

According to Kashmir Media Service, police sources said the threatening email was received on the BSE’s official website from an ID named “Comrade Pinayari Vijayan,” which triggered a swift security response.

“Four RDX IED bombs have been placed in the BSE’s Feroze Tower Building, and they will explode at 3 pm,” the email warned.

Following the alert, Mumbai Police and a bomb squad reached the site and carried out a thorough search. After finding nothing suspicious, police declared the threat a hoax. An investigation is underway to identify the sender and trace the origin of the email.

Notably, on Monday, three schools in New Delhi also received bomb threats, which were later found to be hoaxes after security checks.

The Golden Temple in Amritsar also received a bomb threat on Monday, after which security forces promptly conducted searches, the police said.
