APHC submits memorandum to UNMOGIP on Youm-e-Istehsal

Islamabad: In connection with Youm-e-Istehsal, senior leaders of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC-AJK) chapter presented a memorandum to the United Nations Military Observer Group in India and Pakistan (UNMOGIP) office in Islamabad, calling for urgent UN intervention on the Kashmir dispute.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the leaders submitted the memorandum to mark the sixth anniversary of India’s illegal and unilateral actions of August 5, 2019, which stripped Jammu and Kashmir of its special status and further intensified its military occupation.
The memorandum draws attention to the continued human rights violations in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the systematic denial of the right to self-determination, and the demographic engineering being carried out by the Modi-led Indian regime.
It urges the United Nations to take immediate steps to resolve the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the relevant UN Security Council resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
The APHC leaders reiterated that the people of Jammu and Kashmir reject India’s illegal actions and will continue their peaceful struggle until the achievement of their inalienable right to self-determination.
