IIOJK authorities seize another Kashmiri’s vehicle under draconian UAPA

Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the New Delhi-controlled administration led by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has seized a vehicle belonging to a Kashmiri in Islamabad district.

According to Kashmir Media Service, police, acting on the LG’s orders, confiscated the vehicle under the draconian Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) in connection with a fabricated case registered in Mattan police station.

The Swift car, bearing registration number JK03N-3237, is owned by Muzakir Mohi-ud-Din Shah, a resident of Takia Hugam, Srigufwara, Islamabad. To justify the arbitrary action, police authorities falsely claimed the vehicle has been seized as proceeds of “militancy”.

Since the revocation of IIOJK’s special status in August 2019, the Manoj Sinha-led administration has systematically targeted Kashmiris by confiscating their houses, land, shops and vehicles under filmsy pretexts. The strategy, Kashmir watchers say, is aimed at economically crippling Kashmiris and suppressing their demand for freedom through coercion and intimidation
