Head Constable injured after service rifle goes off in Jammu

Jammu: A Head Constable of the Indian Police was critically injured when his service rifle went off in Jammu city of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the incident occurred while the policeman was cleaning his service rifle at Gulshan Ground in Jammu.
He was immediately shifted to the Government Medical College (GMC) Hospital, Jammu, where doctors said his condition was stable after treatment.
A police spokesperson said, “Head Constable Sanjeev Kumar (Belt No. 1059/SDRF 2nd Battalion) sustained injuries in an accidental fire from his service rifle while on duty at Gulshan Ground, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu.”
He added that the injured officer is under medical care and out of danger.
