Firecrackers banned in Poonch; officials cite security concerns

Jammu: Authorities in Poonch district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) have imposed a complete ban on the sale and use of firecrackers, citing so-called security concerns.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the order was issued by District Magistrate Ashok Kumar Sharma following a police report warning that the bursting of firecrackers during weddings, especially at night, could cause confusion among Indian forces and hinder their response to any potential “militancy-related” incident.
Acting on the recommendation of the Senior Superintendent of Police, Poonch, the district magistrate enforced the ban with immediate effect until further orders.
The authorities have cautioned that any violation of the directive will invite strict legal action.
