Five houses gutted in massive fire in Srinagar

Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, a massive fire broke out in the Khanyar area of Srinagar today, leaving five residential houses severely damaged and causing panic in the densely populated locality.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Assistant Director Fire and Emergency Services Srinagar, Dr. Aqib Hussain Mir, told reporters that the blaze was intense, but firefighters managed to prevent it from spreading to adjacent buildings after strenuous efforts. He also appreciated the role of local residents who tried to control the flames using available resources until fire tenders arrived on the scene.

He confirmed that five houses suffered extensive damage in the incident.

Meanwhile, authorities have launched an assessment to evaluate the losses suffered by the affected families.
