Modi govt forcing armed forces to speak in its favour: Congress MP

New Delhi: Congress Member of Parliament Renuka Chowdhury has strongly criticized the Modi government, stating that it is pressuring the armed forces to act as its spokespersons.
According to Kashmir Media Service, speaking to reporters in the Parliament complex, Chowdhury said the most concerning development is that, for the first time, senior military officials are appearing before the media to defend the government because they are being pressured to do so. “They are being harassed and forced to become the government’s spokespersons. This must be investigated,” she said.
Renuka Chowdhury had made headlines a day earlier for bringing her pet dog into the Parliament complex. When journalists asked whether bringing the dog violated parliamentary protocol, she replied, “This dog poses no threat; it has simply accompanied me. The ones who bite are sitting inside the Parliament, not these voiceless animals.”
