Mirwaiz calls for prayers at Jamia Masjid as Kashmir faces dry winter

Srinagar: Senior All Parties Hurriyat Conference leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has expressed deep concern over the unusually dry winter in the Kashmir Valley marked by a severe lack of rain and snowfall.
According to Kashmir Media Service, in a post on X, the Mirwaiz who is also a spiritual figure in the vally said that rain and snow are manifestations of Allah’s mercy, and their prolonged absence should prompt believers to reflect, turn humbly towards Allah, and engage in sincere prayers seeking His blessings.
He announced that special prayers will be held at Jamia Masjid, Srinagar, this Friday, Insha Allah, to seek rain and snowfall. The Mirwaiz urged people to attend the special supplication in large numbers.
