Buddhist monks forced to lie before bulldozers as statue demolished in Maharashtra

Mumbai: Buddhist monks were forced to lie down in front of bulldozers while protesting the demolition of a Buddha statue and memorial at the Buddha Bhoomi Foundation in Ashok Nagar, Waldhuni, Kalyan, Maharashtra.
According to Kashmir Media Service, authorities demolished the religious site despite protests by monks. Reports said the administration responded with a lathi charge while JCB machines continued the operation. The incident has raised serious questions about religious freedom and minority rights in India, a country that frequently claims to uphold democratic and pluralistic values.
