Strict restrictions imposed in Poonch ahead of LG Manoj Sinha’s visit

Jammu: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the administration has imposed a complete leave ban on government employees and intensified frisking and searches across Poonch district ahead of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha’s proposed visit on June 7.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the Deputy Commissioner Poonch has ordered that no leave of any kind will be granted to any government employee until the conclusion of the LG’s programme under the so-called“100 Days of Nasha Mukt Abhiyan–2026”. Attendance at the event has been made compulsory for all employees.
The administration has also stepped up security measures with strict frisking, vehicle checking and searches at key points and along routes likely to be used by the Lieutenant Governor. District and Sectoral Officers have been made personally responsible for ensuring full attendance and smooth conduct of the programme.
Officials said the stringent measures are aimed at ensuring foolproof security for the high-profile visit.
This heavy clampdown ahead of the LG’s visit has further added to the sense of siege in the district.
