Muhammad Amin’s social media post has sparked heated debate, with many users questioning whether a candidate’s religious identity should influence recruitment decisions.

Users wrote that selection for jobs should be based solely on merit, educational qualifications and professional ability, and not on religion, caste or background.

Legal experts and commentators also say that equal opportunities are a fundamental principle of a democratic society, and if the issue of ignoring someone on religious grounds is proven to be true, it is a matter of great concern.

Many users wrote that such cases of bias can discourage talented candidates from getting opportunities, and years of hard work and educational struggle should not be subjected to discrimination.
