Two Dalit youths beaten to death by Hindu mob in Bihar

Patna: Two Dalit youths were beaten to death by a Hindutva mob in Bharatiya Janata Party-ruled state Bihar.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the Dalit youths, identified as Pinto Paswan (24) and Shravan Paswan (18), were beaten to death on the pretext of their involvement in a theft at the famous Jhunkia Baba temple during the ongoing Malmas festival in Rajgir.
The Dalit victims had reportedly gone to the temple fair and the incident took place when they entered the Pangat area of the temple premises. The upper caste temple authorities, dubbing them thieves, said that the youths were trying to steal. The Hindu mob attacked and killed them brutally with sticks.
The victim Pintu Paswan’s mother, Saroj Devi, said that her son was a daily wage labourer and the only earning member of the family after his father’s death. “I don’t know why my son went near the temple.
“He and his friend were beaten so badly that they died. We want the immediate arrest of the killers,” she said.
She added that Pintu was the eldest among five brothers and three sisters and his death has left the family devastated.
