‘Kill four Muslims for every Hindu’, Hindutva hate campaign reaches Dehradun

Dehradun, Uttarakhand: Open calls for genocide and dehumanizing slurs against Muslims have spread across India as Hindu supremacist leaders in Uttarakhand brazenly demanded mass killings, while a parallel hate congregation in Bihar spewed unabashed anti-Muslim venom, exposing the deepening state patronage for Hindutva violence.

According to Kashmir Media Service, in Dehradun’s Bairagiwala area, Hindu Raksha Dal president Lalit Sharma was caught on video urging crowds to “kill four Muslims for every Hindu killed”, while threatening Muslim women with womb-ripping. The incendiary speech followed the June 13 killing of BJP OBC Morcha leader Vinod Kumar Kashyap in a water dispute, which was swiftly weaponized to target the Muslim majority locality.

The video went viral, triggering India-wide condemnation and demands for immediate arrest and prosecution under hate-speech and incitement laws. Authorities had so far made no public announcement of action against Sharma. The Dehradun hate fest came on the heels of another Hindutva spectacle in Gaya, Bihar, where leaders of the “Veer Hindu Vijay Hindu” outfit delivered rabid speeches at a self-defence training camp.

Speakers hurled abusive epithets at Muslims, peddled “love jihad” and forced-conversion conspiracy theories, and urged Hindus to arm themselves against the community. The video spread rapidly, alarming rights defenders who warned that such open vilification fuels sectarian polarization and violence.

Rights activists and political leaders blasted the unchecked hate campaign, terming it the face of “Viksit Bharat” under the BJP.

Observers say the silence of state machinery in the face of such brazen incitement signals tacit approval, deepening fear among minorities and corroding India’s democratic fabric.
