Cordon and search operation underway in Shopian

Srinagar: Indian forces continued a cordon and search operation (CASO) in Shopian district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the cordon and search operation was launched by the Indian army’s Rashtriya Rifles, para commandos, paramilitary forces and Special Operations Group on Friday night in Meemandar and other areas of Shopian, an Indian police official said, claiming that the operation was prompted by inputs regarding the presence of ‘militants’ in the area.
An Indian media outlet reported that during the cordon and search operation two militants were killed in Chanpora village of the district, while Indian forces officials have not yet confirmed it and said the operation continues in Chanapora area.
On the other hand, Indian police, during a crackdown and house raid, arrested three persons, including house owner Ravi Gupta, Sarishta Devi and Sahil Sharma, for their involvement in an uncovered alleged sex racket in Akhnoor area of Jammu. They have been booked under the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, he said.
