Kashmiris welcome Pakistan’s principled stand on Kashmir

Islamabad: The people of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir have welcomed Pakistan’s reaffirmation of its principled position on the Jammu and Kashmir dispute.
According to Kashmir Media Service, senior APHC-AJK leader and Special Representative of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Syed Faiz Naqshbandi, praised the statement of Chief of Defence Forces and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir made during the Corps Commanders’ Conference in Rawalpindi on Monday.
Naqshbandi said the people of IIOJK appreciate the Field Marshal’s assertion that lasting peace in South Asia is linked to granting the people of Jammu and Kashmir their right to self-determination in accordance with relevant United Nations resolutions.
He emphasized that Jammu and Kashmir remains an internationally recognized disputed territory on the agenda of the United Nations and its final status is to be determined as per the aspirations of the Kashmiri people through implementation of UN resolutions.
Expressing concern over the continued presence of tens of thousands of Indian troops in the occupied territory, Naqshbandi said IIOJK remains one of the most heavily militarized regions in the world where Indian forces are involved in massive and systematic human rights abuses. He reiterated that Pakistan’s diplomatic, political and moral support for the people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir reflects its longstanding commitment to a peaceful resolution of the dispute in accordance with international law and UN resolutions. The APHC leader expressed hope that the United Nations and the international community would play a more active role in supporting a peaceful settlement of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute in line with UN resolutions.
