Congress protests against Ram Temple ‘Chanda’ theft case

Jammu: Hundreds of Congress workers and supporters staged a massive protest in Jammu against the misappropriation of public donations, “Chanda Chori”, collected for the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the demonstration was organized under the leadership of senior Congress leader Hari Singh Chib and Congress Incharge Surinder Bhagat, and led by former minister Mula Ram and District Jammu Rural president Neeraj Kundan.
Protesters raised slogans demanding a thorough investigation and full accountability. They carried placards reading “Save Ram Mandir from Loot”, “Where has the Chanda Gone?” and “Congress demands transparency in Temple funds”.
Speaking to the media, Mula Ram said crores of rupees were donated by devotees with faith for the temple, but reports of fund embezzlement have raised serious questions.
“The Congress party will not remain silent. We demand a high-level judicial inquiry, complete audit of accounts, and strict action against those involved in this betrayal of public trust,” he said.
Hari Singh Chib and Neeraj Kundan said the alleged ‘Chanda Chori’ scandal is a direct insult to the devotion of common people.
“The BJP, which claims credit for the temple, must explain where the funds have disappeared,” they said.
Among others who participated were Ajay Lakhotra, Surinder Kumar, Som Nath Sharma, HS Baghi, Parshotam Singh, Tarun Vaid and Rajinder Singh. KMS-2K
