Manipur: Unidentified assailants blow up bridge in Mahjong district, set telecom vehicle on fire
Imphal: Unidentified assailants blew up a bailey bridge and set a telecom vehicle on fire in Mahjong district of the insurgency-hit Indian state of Manipur.
According to Kashmir Media Service, a bailey bridge over the Namban Lok river in the district was blown up using improvised explosive devices, cutting off the only road connection between several villages and the district headquarters.
The incident took place between Phage and Chitrak villages under Kamjong district at around 9:30am today.
The assailants also set a Bolero pickup truck of the telecom department parked on the banks of the Namban Lok river.
