Kashmiri leaders extend warm wishes to Pakistan on Independence Day
Srinagar : The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has extended warm wishes to the people and Government of Pakistan on the eve of the country’s 79th Independence Day, to be observed, tomorrow, August 14.
According to Kashmir Media Service, APHC parties, including Tehreek-e-Hurriyet Jammu and Kashmir, Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League, Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference, Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League and others, in separate statements issued in Srinagar, expressed gratitude to Pakistan for its continued political, moral, and diplomatic support to the Kashmir cause. They termed the Kashmir dispute an unfinished agenda of the partition of the Indian subcontinent, emphasizing that the dream of a vibrant, stable, and prosperous Pakistan would remain elusive unless Kashmir was freed from Indian rule and made part of Pakistan.
Separately, APHC spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas urged the people to observe India’s Independence Day on August 15 as a Black Day, saying New Delhi has no moral right to celebrate the day while continuing its illegal hold over Kashmir and denying its people their all fundamental rights.
People’s Political Front (PPF) Chairman Fazal-e-Haq Qureshi in his statement said the creation of Pakistan was truly a wonderful gift from Almighty Allah for its people. Highlighting Pakistan’s diplomatic and political support for the Kashmir cause, he prayed for peaceful resolution of long-pending Kashmir dispute.
APHC leaders, including jailed Bilal Ahmad Siddiqui, jailed Moulvi Bashir Irfani, jailed Fayaz Hussain Jafari, jailed leader Ghulam Muhammad Khan Sopori, Hafza Bano, Yasmeen Raja, Maulana Musaib Nadvi, Abdul Samad Inqilabi, Maulana Syed Sibte Shabbir Qumi, in their statements in Srinagar, said that Pakistan remained a center of hope not only for the Muslims of South Asia but also for the entire Muslim Ummah. They prayed for peace, prosperity, and stability of Pakistan.
They said that the creation of Pakistan was an extraordinary favor from Allah Almighty for the Muslims of the subcontinent. They expressed gratitude to Pakistan for its continued political, moral, and diplomatic support to the Kashmir cause, emphasizing that durable peace could not be established in South Asia without resolving the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the Kashmiris’ aspirations and the UN resolutions.
Meanwhile, APHC-AJK convener Ghulam Muhammad Safi, General Secretary Advocate Pervaiz Ahmad Shah and other leaders, including Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, Mehmood Ahmed Saghar, Syed Yousuf Naseem, Altaf Hussain Wani, Syed Faiz Naqshbandi, Shameem Shawl, Mir Tahir Masood, Hassan al-Banna, Muhammad Hussain Khateeb, Engineer Mirza Mushtaq Ahmed Shah, Shaikh Muhammad Yaqoob, Chaudhary Shaheen Iqbal, Sheikh Abdul Mateen, Ijaz Rahmani, Imtiaz Wani, Dawood Khan Yousufzai, Altaf Ahmed Butt, Javaid Iqbal Butt, Raja Shaheen, Mushtaq Ahmed Butt, Haji Muhammad Sultan, Zahid Ashraf, Zahid Safi, Syed Manzoor Ahmed Shah, Sheikh Abdul Majid, Syed Mushtaq Gilani, Manzoor Ahmad Dar, Muhammad Shafi Dar, Ashraf Dar, Adeel Mushtaq Wani, Abdul Majeed Lone, Mian Muzaffar, and Syed Gulshan Ahmed, in separate statements issued in Islamabad, said that the hearts of the Kashmiri people beat in unison with those of the Pakistani people and no power in the world could end this eternal relationship.
They said, “August 14, 1947, is a historical day when Pakistan was created as an independent and sovereign state for the Muslims of the subcontinent under the Two Nation Theory.” They hoped that Pakistan would, like in the past, continue extending political and diplomatic support to the people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir. They said that the dream of a vibrant, stable, and prosperous Pakistan would remain elusive unless Kashmir was freed from Indian bondage”.
