CJP team attacked while exposing ‘buffalo-shed’ school in BJP-ruled Rajasthan

Jaipur: BJP workers attacked Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) leaders on Friday while they were visiting a government primary school in the Bagru Assembly constituency of Rajasthan’s Jaipur district.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the CJP team, led by party spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka, was visiting the school in Rampura Kanwarpura village to inspect its condition, after party members had previously visited the area and said that the school had been functioning from a buffalo shed for several years.
The CJP said that the attack was carried out at the behest of Rajasthan Education Minister Madan Dilawar.
Videos from Rampura Kanwarpura showed a crowd confronting, abusing and attacking members of the CJP team as they attempted to enter the village. The crowd was heard shouting slogans against the CJP and calling its members “urban naxals”, “anti-nationals” and “Pakistanis.”
Journalist and fact-checker Mohammed Zubair said that one of the men seen chasing the CJP members in the videos was Lalchand Sharma, who is associated with the BJP.
Ranka said that the police were informed, but the attackers continued even after the team reached the spot. He said that the attackers smashed vehicle windows and phones, assaulted a woman, tore his shirt and fractured the hand of one team member, besides pelting them with stones.
“All limits of shame have been crossed today,” Ranka said, adding that the attack was carried out on the orders of Rajasthan Education Minister Madan Dilawar. He questioned the minister’s opposition to efforts to improve a school where children were reportedly being taught in a buffalo shed.
Ranka said the CJP would not be intimidated and vowed to continue its campaign to improve the school. “The school will be fixed, one way or another,” he said, giving the Rajasthan government 48 hours to arrest the goons responsible for the attack and withdraw the order banning school inspections. He warned that a statewide agitation would be launched if the demands were not met.
CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke said, “BJP wants your children to study in a buffalo shed. We want them to study in a better school. That’s why they attacked party leaders today when they were going to expose the buffalo-shed school”.
