Haryanvi singer-YouTuber Ankit Balyan shot dead in Uttar Pradesh
Muzaffarnagar : Haryanvi singer and YouTuber Ankit Balyan was shot dead by unidentified assailants in BJP-ruled Uttar Pradesh.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Balyan was targeted outside a gym in Shamli district. The incident occurred in the Kotwali police station area when Balyan was coming out of the gym.
The assailants, who arrived on two motorcycles, opened several rounds of fire at him. He died on the spot, police officials said. Speculation was rife that Balyan was planning to contest the upcoming panchayat polls, and that this could be the reason behind his killing.
Balyan had over 3.66 lakh subscribers on YouTube. He featured in his videos as a singer and performer with various collaborators. Several of his videos showed the use of guns, firearms and SUVs.
