“Rip open Muslims’ chests”: Hindutva leader’s provocative speech in Bihar

Patna: Abhishek Raja, a leader of the Hindutva organization, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), in Bihar, has sparked outrage with a chilling call for violence against Muslims, urging Hindu youth at the VHP foundation day event in Bihar’s Dehri to “rip open the chest of Muslims and eat their hearts.”

Abhishek Raja has delivered the inflammatory speech from the stage targeting Muslims and a video of his remarks circulated widely on social media drawing condemnation.

In the video, Raja is heard making violent and provocative remarks against Muslims inciting young Hindu men to “rip open the chest of Muslims and eat their hearts.” The Hindutva leader also subjected Muslim women to vile abuse during his speech.

The remarks have triggered sharp criticism on social media, with users noting the speaker is openly promoting hatred and violence against Muslims. Several users have also questioned whether the Bihar Police and local administration will initiate action over the speech.

Reacting to the video, one user on X linked the remarks to the communal violence in Gujarat in 2002, writing, “This is exactly what happened in Gujarat in 2002, and now an atmosphere is being created for it to happen across the entire country. This country must be saved, without regard for any party, leader, or place.”

Another user questioned whether such rhetoric was compatible with law and order and communal harmony. “Is such violent and inhuman language against Muslims from an open public platform what constitutes law and order and social harmony?” the user asked.

The user also questioned the authorities’ response, asking, “Now the question is to the police and administration: when will action be taken on such a speech?”

The incident comes amid continuing concerns over inflammatory public rhetoric targeting Muslims and other minority communities in India.
Critics have repeatedly warned that speeches, encouraging violence or portraying an entire religious community as a threat, can deepen communal tensions and create an atmosphere conducive to violence.

The authenticity, date and complete context of the video could not be independently verified by Clarion India.

At the time of publication, the Bihar Police had not issued an official statement on the remarks, and no police action against Abhishek Raja had been reported.
