Islamabad: As the world observes the International Day of Democracy today, the BJP-led Indian government continues its occupation and denial of the oppressed people of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir of their democratic right to choose their political future.

A report released by Kashmir Media Service today said that the Indian occupation is violating all democratic norms in IIOJK, which continues to simmer under a brutal military siege, where the people’s voices have been silenced under black laws.

It maintained that India, through its Hindutva BJP/RSS agenda, has snatched all rights from Kashmiris and is crushing their right to self-determination with its military might.

It said that the death of India’s so-called democracy is witnessed daily in the brutal acts committed in all fields of life in Kashmir, adding that the situation has worsened further since August 5, 2019, when the BJP-led Indian regime illegally revoked Articles 370 and 35A of the occupied territory.

The report pointed out that despite facing Indian state terrorism and black laws for the last 79 years, the caged people of IIOJK remain determined to continue their freedom struggle until it reaches its logical conclusion.

The report added that the Hindutva BJP government of India could not silence the Kashmiris’ cry for the right to self-determination through the use of force.

The report said the time has come for the world to recognise the reality of BJP- and RSS-ruled India, which is merely a communal Hindu fundamentalist state cloaked in so-called democracy.

While urging the United Nations to fulfil its responsibilities regarding the Kashmiris’ right to self-determination, the report added that it is high time for justice-loving people of the world to stand up for the besieged Kashmiris.
