Claims of demonetisation or ending IIOJK statehood to end terrorism proved false: Congress
New Delhi: The Congress party in India has said that the claims of demonetisation or ending the statehood of Jammu and Kashmir to end terrorism have been proved completely false.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh in a statement said that since August 5, 2019, more than 160 soldiers have lost their lives in militant attacks in occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
He said, “Our troops were recently attacked on January 12 in Poonch but luckily this time there was no major loss.” He said that the clean chit given to China by the Prime Minister on June 19, 2020 in which he had said that no one has entered our border and no occupation has taken place was the insult of our slain soldiers.
Due to this clean chit, he said, despite 18 rounds of negotiations, Chinese control over 2000 square kilometers of Indian territory. He said that a report submitted by the Superintendent of Police of Leh has clearly stated that India cannot now visit 26 out of 65 patrolling points. These are the patrolling places where Indian Army personnel used to patrol without any restrictions till 2020.
He said even today, strategically important areas like Depsang and Demchok are beyond the reach of Indian troops. He said China is also strengthening its grip in our neighborhood, the latest example of which is the President of Maldives, Mohammad Moeez, has become the first President of Maldives to visit China.
