Modi govt preparing ground to hang Yasin Malik
Jammu: The Narendra Modi-led Indian government is hell bent to hang illegally detained Kashmiri leader, Muhammad Yasin Malik, for political gains in the upcoming general elections in India.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front Chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik, who was awarded life imprisonment by a special court of India’s dreaded National Investigation Agency (NIA) in May 2022 in a false case, is presently lodged in New Delhi’s Tihar Jail.
He has been implicated by the Indian authorities in many false cases including the killing of four Indian Air Force personnel in an attack in Srinagar in 1990 and the abduction of Rubaiya Saeed, the sister of Peoples Democratic Party President Mehbooba Mufti, in 1989.
In a latest development, an eyewitness in a special CBI court today (Thursday) claimed that Yasin Malik was the main shooter firing at the Indian Air Force personnel in Srinagar in 1990. Four IAF personnel, including a squadron leader, were killed in an attack by unidentified gunmen at Rawalpora on the outskirts of Srinagar on January 25, 1990.
Rajwar Umeshwar Singh, a former IAF staffer and a witness for the prosecution, made this claim when Yasin Malik was produced before the court through video from Delhi’s Tihar Jail where he has been following his arrest in 2017.
Political experts are of the opinion that the Modi-led BJP can go to any extent to achieve victory in the general elections scheduled to be held this year. They have expressed the apprehension that the BJP can even hang Muhammad Yasin Malik for this purpose.
