Tension in UP after Hindutva groups desecrate, vandalise 400-year-old Muslim shrine
Lucknow: Hindutva groups attempted to vandalise the 400-year-old shrine of a prominent Muslim scholar Pathan Shah Baba in BJP-ruled Uttar Pardash state of India.
The Hindutva activists associated with RSS,BJP,VHP and Banjrang Dal attacked and desecrated the historical shrine in Kannauj’s Tajpur Nokas locality of the state.
The Muslims quickly gathered at the site as news of the desecration spread.
The shrine, situated in Sadar Kotwali’s Tajpur Nokas, holds significant historical and cultural importance, standing as a symbol of the region’s rich heritage for over four centuries. The vandalization attempt has stirred anger and disappointment among the public.
Expressing concern over the desecration attempt, Imran, a resident of Ajay Pal, filed a report against unknown persons at Sadar Kotwali.
The BJP government has warned Muslim not to protest or voice against the incidents otherwise they will be punished.
