Indian police officer killed in Chhattisgarh
Raipur: An Indian police officer of Chhattisgarh Armed Force (CAF) was killed in disturbed Bharatiya Janata Party-ruled state, Chhattisgarh, in India.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the rebels attacked Inspector Tijau Ram Bhuarya while he was on duty at the weekly market of Darbha in Bijapur district of the state on Sunday morning.
Bijapur Superintendent of Police Jitendra Yadav confirmed the incident.
The officer along with his men was on duty in the market to provide security cover. The rebels in villager’s attire isolated him and attacked him. The rebels hacked CAP officer Bhuarya to death with an axe before fleeing the scene, police said.
The Indian police team rushed to the spot and launched a search in the area to trace the assailants, the official said.
