BJP govt deliberately dismantling minority structures in India: Rights activist Dayal
New Delhi : Renowned rights activist John Dayal has expressed apprehensions regarding the deliberate dismantling of structures safeguarding minority communities in India under the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government.
According to Kashmir Media Service, John Dayal highlighted the recent shutdown of the Maulana Azad Foundation as indicative of this trend. He emphasized the undermining of crucial programs such as the 15-Point Programme and the Sachar Commission, which are vital for supporting minority education.
Dayal voiced concern over the absence of support structures and appointment of officials aligned with the government’s agenda. This situation, he emphasized, leaves minority communities, particularly Muslims and Christians, susceptible to marginalization and vulnerability. He underscored the urgency of addressing these challenges and upholding principles of inclusivity and equality in India.
