Rahul Gandhi criticizes Modi govt for rising unemployment in India
New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has criticized the ruling Narendra Modi-led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government for the increasing unemployment in the country and said that Modi is only cheating the youth.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Rahul Gandhi Addressing a rally in Madhya Pradesh during his Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra said that the policies of the Modi government were the reason behind higher unemployment in India.
“Today, there is the maximum unemployment in the country in the last 40 years. India has double the unemployment as compared to Pakistan. We have more unemployed youth than Bangladesh and Bhutan because Narendra Modi has finished small businesses by demonetization and implementing GST,” the Congress leader said.
Rahul Gandhi said the Modi government itself has admitted that there are lakhs of vacancies in various government departments, but no steps are being taken to recruit youth. He said the Modi government, which claims to provide two crore jobs to the youth every year, has proved that it is not serious in providing jobs to the youth.
Referring to the data presented by the Modi government in Parliament, he said that 9 out of 78 departments, 64,000 vacancies are vacant. He asked the Modi government why more than 30 percent of the vacancies are vacant in 15 major departments of the country. He said the BJP government, which considers permanent jobs as a burden, is constantly telling lies.
