Dal Khalsa extends greetings to new Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif

Amritsar: Dal Khalsa, a Sikh organization, has extended warm greetings to the newly elected Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif, in a gesture of goodwill and optimism.

According to Kashmir Media Service, expressing hope for a positive impact on Pakistan’s current crisis and the geopolitical landscape of South Asia, Dal Khalsa emphasized the potential for progress under the leadership of the Sharif family.

In a statement issued in Amritsar, Punjab, Kanwar Pal Singh, the party’s secretary for political affairs, conveyed congratulations while acknowledging the challenges ahead for Pakistan. “As you assume the role of Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, we, the Sikhs of Punjab, extend our heartfelt congratulations and prayers for your success,” remarked Singh.

Singh also highlighted the expectations of the Sikh community in Pakistan, anticipating increased opportunities for social, religious, and political engagement under Sharif’s leadership. “We anticipate that the Sikh community in Pakistan will find more avenues for social, religious, and political participation under Sharif’s leadership,” he asserted.

Underlining the shared heritage between Sikhs and Muslims, Singh emphasized, “The children of Guru Nanak, the Sikhs, in the neighborhood, expect the Sharif family’s attention and intervention in their pursuit to safeguard and uphold their exclusive identity, political aspirations, and sovereign status.”
