BJP govt neglecting Indian citizens, says Delhi Chief Minister Kejriwal
New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has strongly criticized the implementation of the controversial Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), blaming the BJP-led Indian government for prioritizing the interests of foreigners, particularly Hindus from neighboring countries, over those of Indian citizens.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Kejriwal at a press conference in New Delhi questioned the rationale behind the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), which offers Indian citizenship to minorities from neighboring countries. He expressed concerns about the potential influx of minorities into India resulting from this policy.
Kejriwal raised questions about the implications of the CAA, suggesting it could lead to a significant increase in the minority population within India. He highlighted potential challenges in terms of employment and housing for both newcomers and existing Indian citizens.
Kejriwal further accused the BJP of trying to settle individuals from Pakistan in India at the expense of native citizens’ rights and opportunities. He concluded by expressing apprehension about the allocation of government funds, suggesting that resources intended for the development of Indian families and the nation might instead be used to accommodate Pakistani nationals.
