Indian CRPF driver shoots himself dead in Jharkhand
Ranchi: An Indian Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) man committed suicide in Jharkhand state.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the CRPF man identified as Nihal Singh, who was posted as a driver, committed suicide by shooting himself with his service rifle in Kedimo post of the CRPF’s 190th battalion under the Vashishtha Nagar Jori police station area of Chatra district, about 200 km from Jharkhand’s capital Ranchi.
Confirming the incident, the battalion’s CRPF commandant Manoj Kumar said the family of the deceased soldier has been informed about the incident. Singh was a resident of Dausa in Rajasthan and had returned from leave on February 3. He had joined the CRPF in 2015 and the 190th battalion in 2022, Kumar said.
Police said that Singh was reportedly depressed due to family problems. “We will probe the case from all angles,” a police official of Jori police station said.
