Employees stage protest in Jammu against IIOJK authorities’ apathy towards their woes
Jammu: Employees of the water department held a protest demonstration in Jammu city of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir against the higher authorities for showing indifference to address their long-pending issues.
According to Kashmir Media Service, a large number of employees of the water department assembled in the office of Chief Engineer in the city and started the protest demonstration. They shouted slogans in support of their demands and also against the higher authorities for not paying heed to their problems.
The protesting employees said that higher authorities in the department failed to resolve the pending issues of permanent and temporary employees. They said, “Permanent employees are facing stagnation since long. On the other hand the daily wagers are struggling for the last two to three decades. They have not been regularized despite assurance by the higher authorities”.
They further said the recently retired employees are not getting their dues and have to move from pillar to the post for getting their hard earned money.
The protesting employees strongly demanded regularization of daily wagers and conduct of DPC [Departmental Promotion Committee] of all the cadre without any further delay, adding their agitation will continue till their demands are addressed.
