Four men beaten up on suspicion of cow smuggling in Alwar
Alwar: Four men were beaten up by locals in Alwar, area of Rajasthan state of India.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the locals suspected them to be cow smugglers. The men belong to Nuh in Haryana, police said.
The incident happened on early Wednesday morning near Honda Chowk in Alwar. The area falls under the Kurushetra police station.
By the time the police reached the spot, the 4 men were badly injured. While police say that they were beaten up by the locals, the people claimed that the men tried to flee after being stopped and they got injured in the attempt to flee before police arrived. The police took the 4 men to hospital.
The police rescued 7 cows from the vehicle and took them to a cow shelter. The police said that all of the four men were in a vehicle which was transporting cows.
