Indian troops kill 29 people in BJP-ruled Chhattisgarh
Raipur: Indian troops killed at least twenty nine (29) people in the violence-hit and Hindutva BJP ruled Chhattisgarh state.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the victims, mostly youth, were killed by Indian Border Security Force and other paramilitary personnel during a violent cordon and search operation in Binagunda area under the jurisdiction of Chotebetiya police station of Kanker district located in the Southern region of Chhattisgarh.
This comes days ahead of Indian Lok Sabha polls in Bastar district on April 19. More than 60,000 Indian forces’ personnel are deployed in the district, as per the Bastar’s Inspector General Sundarraj P.
The operation was launched by the BSF and District Reserve Guard (DRG) in the Binagunda area. The Indian officials claimed the victims were the members of CPI Maoist and were killed in a fierce exchange of gunfire. “Operation is still in progress, and until now, bodies of 29 CPI Maoist cadres who have been recovered from the place of occurrence,” the Indian official spokesperson said. Reportedly, top Maoist leader, Shankar Rao, was among the dead.

On Sunday, the Indian Home Minister Amit Shah who visited Khairagarh in Chhattisgarh gave free hand to Indian forces against the CPI Moaists. The Indian forces during operations have killed 50 Maoists so far this year in the violence hit state.
