Priyanka Gandhi grills BJP’s Silence on sex scandal: Will Modi respond?
New Delhi: The Congress party, led by Priyanka Gandhi, has strongly criticized the BJP over a sex scandal involving former Indian Prime Minister and Janata Dal (Secular) supremo Deve Gowda’s son H D Revanna and grandson Prajwal Revanna, indicating a bleak future for women in India under BJP rule.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Priyanka Gandhi questioned whether Prime Minister Narendra Modi would continue to remain silent on the matter.
The opposition party raised concerns about the BJP’s alliance with the JD(S) despite prior knowledge of the scandal. A BJP leader had reportedly written to the party’s Karnataka unit president, highlighting the existence of a pen drive containing “sleaze videos of Prajwal Revanna”.
A case of sexual harassment and stalking has been registered against former Prime Minister Deve Gowda’s son H D Revanna and grandson MP Prajwal Revanna, based on a complaint filed by their cook. The complainant alleged that Revanna sexually harassed her, while Prajwal engaged in “vulgar conversations” with her daughter via video calls.
In a post on social media, Priyanka Gandhi expressed dismay over the allegations and questioned Modi’s silence on the matter. She pointed out Modi’s recent campaigning alongside Prajwal Revanna and urged him to break his silence.
Congress’ media and publicity department head, Pawan Khera, shared a letter written by a BJP leader that revealed the presence of incriminating videos on Prajwal Revanna’s pen drive.
The complainant, who claims to be a relative of Revanna’s wife Bhavani, has raised concerns about threats to her life and her family’s safety.
The unfolding scandal raises significant questions about political alliances, accountability, and the safety of women in India under BJP rule.
