VDGs demand increased weaponry to suppress civilian population in IIOJK
Srinagar: In a concerning development, the Indian army-backed terrorist group known as Village Defence Guards (VDGs) has demanded of the Modi-led Indian government to provide them with additional weapons to target the pro-freedom civilians, particularly those residing along the Line of Control in occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
According to reports from Kashmir Media Service, VDGs, armed with .303 rifles and bolt-action rifles, are appealing to the Hindutva regime for more automatic weapons and higher remuneration to intensify their activities against the pro-freedom population in the border districts of the territory.
VDG members emphasized the necessity of automatic arms for what they termed as “more effective operations,” revealing the sinister intentions behind their demands.
Political analysts and experts on Kashmir believe that the plea from the VDGs sheds light on the alarming strategy employed by the Hindutva regime, led by Narendra Modi, in arming private militias to suppress dissent in the occupied territory. Such actions, they added, not only violate human rights but also exacerbate the already volatile situation in the territory.
They also demanded international intervention to address the escalating human rights abuses and state-sponsored terrorism in occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
